Oh what wonderful root vegetables that are now available. There, you have not missed? Beets are a big favorite this season. Either ugnsteker I like them or so I boil them to then enjoy with butter, cheese sauce or flavored cream cheese. The disadvantage of beets is that they rub off on your hands when trying to scale them. One way to avoid being all red hands is to wear gloves vesco another (easier) way is to use paper towels.
Boil and peel the beets Cut off tops from beets and wash them if they are earthy. Boil the beets in their skins in unsalted water. It takes quite a while, about 45 minutes.
