2013 is over and I have summarized how many copies of the gate, I got rid of during the old year. I've sold 40 percent of the edition! Not so bad considering pelouze that it is in less than 2 months. Need not mention how small the issue is ... Also gave away several items. What tricks have I been using? Should make a list because I love lists! 1. Release Party. Right so rewarding, pelouze some people who showed up, but those who came bought pelouze kind. A one-off course. 2nd Participation in Kronoberg book fair. Lousy results, probably should have been more active. Or especially enjoyed a significantly lower price, return to it. 3rd Ad in trade magazine (vet) to reach a possible "target". Uncertain effect, not worth the money. One impression I think consistent with what other self-publishers reported, difficult to recoup the cost. 4th Review copy the book bloggers. Good to get reviews whether it leads to a sale! Value of the term. 5th Donated books to friends pelouze and acquaintances. Been pretty stingy there, maybe too stingy. The little I still done in some cases spread and given additional sales among their acquaintances. Can not be evaluated yet ... 6. Contacted more distant relatives, old friends, colleagues, clients and others For example, have imposed upon a lot julbrevsmottagare bookmarks with blog address and "advertising" for the book. Too early to evaluate, but know that it led to more selling items ...
Yeah that's what the whole. Is more than enough for a reclusive person like me. I am ashamed to 5-6? Nah, why would I? Maybe I'm a bit obtrusive to some who may feel compelled to buy, but do not think so. Furthermore, I think actually that port is a good book, worth reading! And the two following parts are even better! So now I hope to have sold a few more copies of the gate so I can give out the future. And then it will be cheaper, by his own publishing company, own work. No convenience publishers volcano. Because I think a price of over 200 dollars for an unknown self-published fantasy book is too high, even if it happens pelouze to be the cost, and a brick. Would probably hovered around 150 instead. So if I should dare me in any advice for those who have not had time so far but wants to publish your book yourself ... no I will not, haha! No other advice than my old hackneyed: JOIN OWN publishers!
Maybe a little hesitant pelouze on the price when there is an unknown author, but given the book's thickness, I feel that it is a fairly moderate price. Funny that it went so well for you :) I have almost made up my mind, the only planning and thinking a lot first. :) ReplyDelete pelouze
Compared with Maria Bjelke von Sydow, do "nothing"! But she is on the other incredibly talented and energetic to market themselves everywhere. Sorry I have not done more yet to publicize the book. Should grab it when time permits =). But as I said. Given that you do not do "something" is your sales brilliant! Bravo! Reply Delete
